Meet the team

Neil Blakeburn founded Ochiltree in 2013 after many years of experience working as a joiner.

After seeing how disjointed some joinery businesses could be, Neil wanted to build a company that did everything in-house, from design and manufacture all the way through to installation.

Neil is supported by an experienced, time-served in-house team of manufacturing and installation specialists.

In his spare time, Neil loves to watch the football & darts, take walks through the countryside or spend some time travelling.

Johnny

Installer

Johnny has been our installation expert since 2017.

When he's not installing doors & windows, he can be found taking scenic walks in the lakes and staying fit at the gym.

Brian

Bench Joinery

Brian recently joined the business in May 2024 crafting bespoke pieces as our bench hand joiner.

Brian loves watching a bit of football or getting away on his travels!

Dennis

Apprentice

Dennis has been learning the trade with us since 2023 as our sole apprentice.

When he's not learning to craft wood, you can catch him on two wheels or crafting models.

Jonny

Paint & Assembly

Jonny is our guy with the final touches. Adding a lick of paint and putting all of the final pieces together.

In his spare time, Jonny enjoys travelling, watching the footbal & hanging out with his mates.

Calum

Machinist

Calum joined the team in January 2024 as our machinist.

Calum enjoys watching the football and darts.

Owain

Bench Joinery & Machinist

Owain has been with us since 2021 making our timber come alive as our bench hand joiner.

You can either find Owain in the kitchen experimenting with food or keeping fit running & watching the football.

We have a long way to go but thanks to Ochiltree we have a magnificent front door. We gave them clear instructions on what we wanted and they exceeded our expectations. Ochiltree replaced the rotten wooden, single glazed windows in the bedrooms and attic of our period property with matching style double glazed Acoya windows and we are delighted with the results. During the quotation, Neil listened to our requirements and presented us with several good options. We were slightly worried about the fitting of the bathroom and attic windows as access was not straight forward but this wasn't an issue for the Ochiltree team who were able to complete the job without any fuss. The fitters Jonny and Andy were real grafters and were careful and considerate around the house and were happy to discuss matters as the work progressed. The windows have made such a big difference to the look and feel of the house. I would happily recommend Ochiltree to anyone; their costs are competitive and the quality of their workmanship and service is excellent.

Neil and his team did a great job. Every stage was handled professionally and with a smile. The quality of the work is exceptional. Every stage was bespoke, including matching the height of the cat flap to the old door (they are fussy). We are very happy and so are the cats!

It replaced a door which was rotting, draughty and leaking, and we are so pleased to have a solid, watertight door with glazing to give much more light. The quality of workmanship is outstanding and the finish is perfect. Neil is friendly and communicative and the team who came to fit the door were professional and tidy. We’re so happy to have a watertight, draught proof double glazed front door. It was by no means cheap but the door has transformed our cottage, inside and out, and you definitely get what you pay for (in a good way!) with Ochiltree. Highly recommended.

We bought a 1930s house which had a nice wide wooden door - with drafts blowing through it, single lock, plain single-glazed glass with no privacy. Poor security, and it was twisted in the frame. We looked for a company online to fit a new door but your typical composite door looked horrible and other companies are out there who will fit an engineered wooden door but it was always a case of "pick from these options" and for the price, you really want what YOU want. Ochitree made it simple - you can have exactly what you want. So we sketched out our idea, a little back and forth with Neil and we settled on a design. The helped match the glass on our side window perfectly, we got the exact colour we wanted and most importantly when they sketched up the initial mock-up, made some recommendations about scale so it looked in proportion. The fitters were the best I've ever had for any installation. The door is perfect and when they left, I didn't have to so much as wipe a surface down. This door is perfect and it'll outlast us.
